Emma Zakes Green is a multi-disciplinary artist and performer
currently based in Los Angeles. She is committed to craft,
explorative processes, and building community through creative collaboration. In any chosen medium, Emma looks for innovative ways to tell stories that are compelling, human, and politically relevant.
Emma is the founder of The Outpost, a collaboration between artists working in theatre, design, music and film in order to create and produce original, interdisciplinary, experimental, and genre-defying work. When she's not in a theatre or recording studio, Emma works as an executive assistant at 180LA.
Emma holds a B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College. She graduated from the CalArts MFA Acting program in 2013.
Most recent projects include writing, directing, and producing MEAT: a bleak comedy as a guest production for Son of Semele, directing a music video for Lisa Frankly: a tween punk music collaboration with composer Paul Fraser, writing, directing and performing in The Outpost's The Dryway: a merfolk opera, and directing an outdoor, traveling Romeo & Juliet for LawnChair Theatre in New York.
